Next Saturday is my birthday and I turn 38...2 years from 40...you know the only birthday that's bothered me so far was my 35th, which I thought was weird at the time. However I did find out from a few friends that their 35th was the hardest for them too, so I guess it's nice that I'm not alone. Now I'm turning 38...and there are some things I want to work on this year that I don't feel like I have spent enough time on.
One thing is doing a bible study. Now I have started plenty of bible studies...my problem is finishing them! It's always the same thing...I start one and I'm so excited about starting it, about learning more about God, and applying what I learn to my life. So I go to the first meeting, and the first week is great. I get the questions answered for the week, go to the next week's meeting and it's going great. Then the next week, I may not get all the questions answered, but I think well, I will still go, not a big deal. Then the next week I don't get any questions done...and I get frustrated...but I still go, but I feel bad I didn't do any of the work. So I tell myself I will get it done the next week! But then life gets in the way and I don't get it done. Then I just give up and don't go back. It's happened over and over again. But...this year I am leading a bible study for my MOPS group. I will be a monthly group, which means more time to get the work done. I'm not exactly "teaching", but I will lead in our moms sharing our answers and how we are applying them to our life. I am very excited about it! So, that is one thing I am going to accomplish this year!!!
Another thing I want to do is read my bible more. I'm not going through a reading plan, just reading anytime I get a chance. I have this bible app for my Droid, and I love it!! But some of the things I have read this week I was a bit surprised about! So, last week Mike and I taught children church and the lesson was about God sending Samuel to find the next king of Israel, which was David. When I teach the kid's lesson, I like to read the story in the bible so I know the whole story before I talk to the kids. So after last Sunday I started reading about David. Now, like any other kid that grew up in church I know the story of David and Goliath. The thing I read about that I did not know was that David cut Goliath's head off and carried it to another town! That was not in Dave and the Giant Pickle! The other thing was King Saul offered one of his daughters to David as his wife. When David said he did not have the money to pay to wed a king's daughter, Saul told David he would take 100 foreskins of the Philistine soldiers! David was very happy to hear this...happy...okay...so then he went out and killed 200 Philistine soldiers and brought their foreskins back to the King....wow....so I'm learning lots so far! lol! I think after I am done reading about David I am going to read about Esther, I always have wanted to read about her. If anyone has any suggestions on what or who I should read about, let me know!!!
Another thing I would like to accomplish is finding a way to help our home financially while staying at home. I do have my jewelry designing, but that is not anything steady. I need to check out the christian work at home website again, haven't checked that out in awhile. I would just like to contribute!
And the last thing I would like to accomplish is too lose weight...but that is for a whole other blog!!!
Okay, I'm done rambling for now. Dad and GT are over and Jason is coming over later so we can watch the Cowboys game and eat chili dogs!
Until next time...much love! ♥

My Boys!
This is the most recent picture I have, and it's taken from my phone. I haven't had professional pics taken of the boys yet since Patrick was born...I feel like Mom Of The Year for that one! Lucas is 7 and going into 2nd grade (gray hairs feel free to pop up...) and Patrick is 15 months. They are awesome, funny, frustrating, and crazy...typical boys!!!
This is my hubby Mike, this picture was taken at the hospital after Patrick was born. He is such an awesome guy! Great husband, great daddy, just a great person. I'm lucky to have such an awesome role model for my boys.
This is me, this picture was taken with Lucas at Scovill Zoo in Decatur in what seems like forever ago. I hope I'm as good of a mommy as they make me feel when they love and snuggle with me...

Okay, so here we go...
Well, I don't know if I have an exciting enough life to have a blog, but at least I can keep friends and family up to date on what's going on with me, Mike, and the boys. I have no idea how often I will post on here, or what I will write about, so if you check this and there is never anything new, or you read it and want to take a nap, I apologize now!
